E-Survey methodology: A review, issues, and implications

With network access nearly ubiquitous in much of the world, alternative means of data collection are being made available to researchers, especially online surveys.

However, the exploitation of online survey and related techniques requires careful consideration of conceptual and methodological issues associated with their use.

This research article identifies and explore these issues by examining the strengths, weaknesses, and threats to reliability, validity, sampling, and generalizability.

The article concludes with a consideration of emerging security, privacy, and ethical issues associated with the design and implications of e-survey methodology.
